On the day of your adventure, you'll be led through basic safety guidelines, and given hints and tips on how to tackle the abseil more comfortably before tackling the big kahuna - the 140m drop! It sounds frightening but the fully qualified and experienced instructors can guide even the most nervous participants to accept the challenge!
This is a full day tour. On the way to the Gordon Dam, you will pass through the rich pastures and hop fields of the Derwent Valley, in contrast to the beautiful south west wilderness and world heritage area. Please note that this experience runs every day, unless scheduled maintenance is required by the dam operators.
A minimum number of two (2) participants are required for this experience to commence
Fitness / Experience:
A basic level of fitness is required to participate but no previous experience is necessary
This is an introductory day and the instructor will teach you everything you need to know to abseil with confidence
For your safety and enjoyment ensure that you have a good night's sleep before the course
Be sure to inform Adrenalin of any conditions such as asthma or previous injury that may be relevant and remind your guides on the day
Minimum age 15
Adventurer To Bring:
Transport is NOT provided for this experience, you must have your own vehicle
Wear comfortable, loose-fitting long trousers, tights or a tracksuit, plus shorts if it&rsquos warm
Your footwear should be robust and comfortable - running shoes are suitable
A warm jacket - the weather can change dramatically in the hills
Winter can be very cold so please bring plenty of warm clothing, wear layers and be sure to include a windproof layer such as a rain jacket
Wet weather gear
Sunscreen and a hat or beanie
If you have long hair, you must tie it back for safety reasons
Camera (optional - there are excellent photo opportunities)
